1. Who we are

Double Check is a scam detection service operated by Double Check ("we", "us", "our"). Our service uses artificial intelligence to analyse messages, links, and other content you submit to help you assess whether they may be scams.

By creating an account or using the Double Check app, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. What Double Check does

Double Check allows you to:

• Submit suspicious messages, links, or documents for AI analysis
• Receive a plain English assessment of whether the content may be a scam
• Add family contacts who will receive automated email alerts when you scan something flagged as suspicious
• Share your scan history with a nominated financial advisor (if you choose to)

3. AI-generated results — important limitations

All analysis results are generated by artificial intelligence. They are not reviewed by a human before being shown to you.

AI results are provided for guidance only. They are not a guarantee that any content is or is not a scam. You should:

• Always verify before acting on a result — especially before sending money, clicking links, or sharing personal information
• Not treat Double Check results as legal, financial, or professional advice
• Contact relevant authorities (e.g. Action Fraud, your bank) if you believe you have been targeted by a scam

We are not liable for any loss or harm arising from reliance on AI-generated results.

4. Your account

You must be 18 or older to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account.

Accounts are personal and non-transferable. You must not share your account with others or use it on behalf of another person without their knowledge.

5. Family contacts

You may add family members or trusted contacts to receive automated email alerts when you scan content flagged as a potential scam. By adding a contact, you confirm that:

• The contact has agreed to receive these automated alert emails from Double Check on your behalf
• You have permission to provide their email address to us

We will use contact email addresses solely to send scam alert notifications. We will not use them for marketing.

6. Advisor access

If you register via an invite code from a financial advisor, or if you explicitly grant advisor access, your scan history may be visible to your nominated advisor. This is to help them provide you with better support.

You consent to this access during account creation. You may contact us to revoke advisor access at any time.

7. Acceptable use

You must not use Double Check to:

• Submit content that is unlawful, harmful, or violates the rights of others
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse our AI systems
• Create multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits
• Use the service in any way that could harm other users or third parties

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

8. Availability and changes

We aim to keep Double Check available at all times but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. We may update, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the app or by email. Continued use after notice constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Double Check and its operators are not liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential loss arising from your use of the service or reliance on any AI-generated result.

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
