Double Check
Is the FedEx 'reschedule your delivery' text a scam?
This is a scam
A typical version of this message
FedEx: We missed you today. Your parcel #[number removed] is being held at our local depot. A redelivery fee of $1.95 is required to reschedule. Complete within 24 hours or the item will be returned: fedex-redelivery-example.com/schedule
Why it is a fake delivery scam
Yes. The $1.95 is not the prize — your card details are. A tiny 'redelivery fee' feels harmless enough to pay without thinking, which is exactly the point: the payment page is fake, and the card number you type is then used or sold for far more. Real carriers redeliver for free, and missed deliveries leave a physical slip at your door, not a payment link by text.
What to do
Do not enter card details. If you are expecting something, go to the carrier's real website yourself and enter the tracking number from your order confirmation. If a card number was already entered, call your card issuer and have the card replaced — small fraudulent charges usually start within days. Forward the text to 7726 and delete it.
